Chairpersons’ foreword

Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the Organization Committee, we would please to invite you to the 4th International Symposium on Traditional Foods from Adriatic to Caucasus, to held in Kyrenia, TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) on 19-21th April 2018 and enjoy the scientific and cultural activities. The symposium is organized by Namık Kemal University and Near East University.

We feel honored to say that we conducted the 1st International Symposium on Traditional Foods from Adriatic to Caucasus in Tekirdağ/Turkey in 2010, the 2nd one in Struga/FYROM in 2013, and the 3rd one in Sarajevo/Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2015 successfully. We had many participants from different countries, addressing scientists, technicians and industrialists in the previous symposiums, presenting in scientific sections with oral and poster presentations. We had great feedbacks that motivate us to arrange the 4th of that symposium.

The theme of the Symposium “From Traditional to Engineering” puts emphasis on the modern scientific and technological approach, in a creative way, for industrial applications of traditional foods. This symposium aiming to focus on combination of traditional knowledge with innovative, safe and modern technologies.

The 4th International Symposium on Traditional Foods from Adriatic to Caucasus will be held in Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus is a lively contemporary city which is a cultural and economical center, described as the touristic capital of the island. It is often referred to as a tourist paradise, is a rare and ideal place for meetings. The Symposium will be held at Acapulco Resort Convention SPA Hotel which provides five star and friendly service with Mediterranean culture.

The Organizing Committee has made every effort to create an informative and enjoyable program that will include scientific sessions with oral and poster presentations, as well as entertaining social events. Our main goal is from now on to offer to all of you a great and attractive symposium joining different cultures, traditions and knowledge throughout the traditional foods from Adriatic to Caucasus while creating valuable networks among colleagues.

As organization committee, we would appreciate your interest and look forward to seeing you in Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus on 19-21th April 2018.
